1:1 Sessions

TALA 1:1 Sessions are designed and facilitated by our Lead Coach Jeff Ryan.
Every 1:1 session is uniquely designed around the specific self-identified goal(s) and learning objective(s) of the individual player. Our model of 1:1 training offers players and families the benefits of tailored player development sessions that are based on the principles of teaching and learning and uniquely created to meet the holistic developmental goals of each player as an individual.

1:1 TALA Soccer Training sessions are designed based on the individual learning goals and objectives of each player through a partnership with the player and family. Before creating your first individual session the player and/or family is asked to complete a soccer-specific player self-evaluation/reflection. Upon completion of the player self-evaluation/reflection and before creating your first 1:1 session, the player and/or family will review the reflection with lead TALA Soccer coach Jeff Ryan. The time in conversation will allow TALA Soccer coaches to better understand and plan for the technical, tactical, physical, social, and cognitive areas of individual strength and areas of the game the player wishes to develop, improve, and learn more about. During this process, the players are asked to identify a few soccer-specific goals for themselves and for their team.

TALA Soccer lead coach Jeff Ryan will use the time in conversation to better understand each player’s preferred learning style, teaching style, and sources of personal motivation. Our unique process of gathering player-specific information is designed to create a person-centered individualized approach to holistic development based on a deeper understanding of the person within the player.

Lead TALA Soccer coach Jeff Ryan will design each session based on your goals and specific areas of development identified through the player self-assessment process and in reflection of our previous sessions. Our process of 1:1 training requires an active role from both the player and the coach to best create an environment rich in learning, development, and improving in partnership with each other through a person-centered approach to teaching and learning. Every 1:1 training session will provide the opportunity for the player to develop technical skills, tactical awareness, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of the game through participation in progressive experiential game-based activities. Each 1:1 session will also develop the player's ability to self-correct and self-regulate through a deeper understanding of self-awareness as it relates to resilience, problem-solving, a growth mindset, and next-play mentality.

"It is clearly evident that Jeff has a background in education because his passion for the sport is only over shadowed by his commitment to his players."
